Carol Sands Langensand is the Founder of The Angels' Forum ( and the Managing General Partner of The Halo Funds (  She has spent more than 40 years with investing, entrepreneurial, and/or large corporate institutions.  A recognized expert on Board of Directors matters for entrepreneurial entities, she is also an instructor at Stanford University.

For more than 20 years, The Angels' Forum (TAF) has been investing in, mentoring and advising Silicon Valley startups from early stage all the way through a meaningful exit since 1997. A diverse group of 25 high net worth private investors, all of whom have created their own wealth via their successful entrepreneurial endeavors and/or senior corporate positions. TAF Members have the capital, time, experience, skills and passion to work with other entrepreneurs to build disruptive and impactful companies.

The Angels' Forum has invested in hundreds of Silicon Valley start-ups.  Investment focus ranges from Technology (Software, Internet of Things (IoT), Hardware) to Life Sciences (Medical Devices, Digital Health, Genomics) to Consumer Products. 

Investments include Penumbra (NYSE: PEN), Spinal Modulation (sold to St. Jude Medical), Tea Living aka Tea Collection (sold back to Company at a profit), Smart Therapeutics (sold to Boston Scientific), NetScaler (sold to Citrix), Sensant (sold to Siemens), Safeview (sold to L3), PurpleWave (sold to founder at a profit), Vascular Pathways (sold to C. R. Bard, Inc.), Specialty's Café & Bakery (sold to FEMSA), Taulia, RenovoRX, and Sonos.  While quick returns are nice, TAF is a patient investor and has held worthy investments for more than 10 years.

The Halo Fund, a venture capital fund investing in early stage, Silicon Valley based start ups with $40 Million under management.  Halo Fund I, II, and III have a portfolio mix of Technology, Consumer Products, and Life Sciences companies which are shared investments with The Angels' Forum. 

In addition to her investment based responsibilities, Carol is an instructor at Stanford University's Continuing Studies program.  She teaches two classes: Angel Investing for the Serious Investor; and The Effective Start-up Board Member.  Known for her candor, she's a guest lecturer on entrepreneurship and angel investing at other universities and conferences on a global basis.

Finally, Carol is also a Director of the Sands Family Foundation which funds early stage and pre NIH (National Institute of Health) research relating to prostate and ovarian cancers.
